TULSA

Behind Tulsa’s untamed magnetism beats the heart of Miren Iza, a true outlaw of the Spanish indie scene who learned to bite the dust in the late nineties, spitting electricity with the wild punk-pop of Electrobikinis. Far from settling into commercial neatness, Iza threw caution to the wind to found her most personal project, named after the dusty Oklahoma city and deeply soaked in the mystique of backroads, American folk-rock, and lyrical malditismo. Armed with a Latin Grammy nomination since her 2007 debut and a live show where pain is danced away and choruses drill into your memory, she has dodged mainstream radio through sheer consistency, attitude, and visceral stories sung in Spanish.
