More than three decades after first pulling on their unmistakable lucha libre masks, Los Straitjackets remain masters of instrumental rock ’n’ roll. From Nashville, Eddie Angel, Greg Townson, Pete Curry and Chris Sprague have built a world of reverb-soaked, twanging guitars where surf, garage and ’60s rock ’n’ roll collide, drawing on the spirit of Link Wray, The Ventures and Dick Dale while carrying the energy of punk. Long-time collaborators with Nick Lowe and seasoned travellers across stages around the world, they returned in 2025 with Somos Los Straitjackets, proof that their distinctive formula remains as sharp as ever. After letting their guitars loose at Trashville in 2025, they return to Azkena Rock Festival armed once again with masks, reverb and rock ’n’ roll that does not need a single word.
