For more than two decades, Hayseed Dixie have been bringing bluegrass and hard rock together through a formula as unlikely as it is effective. Formed in Nashville around John Wheeler, they began by reworking AC/DC songs with banjo, mandolin, fiddle and acoustic guitars, creating what they dubbed rockgrass. Since then, they have tackled songs by KISS, Queen, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith and Motörhead, while also building a catalogue of their own. Beneath the humour and irreverence lies a highly accomplished band with a distinctive way of translating the energy of rock into an acoustic setting.
