For three decades, Wilco have shown how far a song can stretch without losing its centre. Led by Jeff Tweedy, the Chicago band have moved from alternative country into experimentation, noise and an increasingly hard-to-define form of rock. Albums such as Yankee Hotel Foxtrot and A Ghost Is Born expanded that language for good. With a line-up that has remained stable for two decades and a catalogue where meticulously crafted songs sit alongside open-ended, unpredictable passages, Wilco have become one of the essential bands in contemporary American rock. Their recent releases include Cousin (2023), produced by Cate Le Bon, and the Hot Sun Cool Shroud EP (2024). Following memorable appearances at Azkena Rock Festival in 2005 and 2019, Wilco return to Mendizabala with more than thirty years of songs and a live approach that has never been about simply reproducing the records.
