They turned Satanism into spectacle and doo-wop into their own kind of black mass. Twin Temple, the duo formed by Alexandra and Zachary James, blend the elegance of ’50s and ’60s rock & roll and rhythm & blues with lyrics steeped in occultism, freedom, sexuality and provocation. Describing their sound as “satanic doo-wop”, they have created a world where irresistibly vintage melodies meet a ceremonial and deliberately transgressive aesthetic. Their live shows take this liturgy to its limits, with candles, rituals and theatricality transforming every performance into a celebration of the forbidden.
