Azkena Rock Festival <\/b>today reveals the latest names for its 24th edition, which will be held in <\/span>Mendizabala (Vitoria-Gasteiz) on June 18, 19, and 20<\/b>, and also announces the distribution of the lineup by day.<\/span><\/p>\n

The lineup is completed with the confirmation of French musician <\/span>Carpenter Brut, <\/b>master of <\/span>synthwave mixed with industrial metal<\/span>, presenting his latest and newly released album, <\/span>Leather Temple<\/span><\/i>. Also visiting Mendizabala will be <\/span>Robert Finley<\/b>, the veteran bluesman from Louisiana, mentored by Dan Auerbach, who will stop off at the festival before opening for the Black Keys on their European tour, and <\/span>Black Maracas<\/b>, representing the most electrifying psychedelic garage rock in Spain. With these additions, the 24th edition of the Azkena Rock Festival will bring together nearly 50 artists, in a lineup headed by <\/span>Alice Cooper<\/b>, <\/span>Social Distortion, <\/b>and <\/span>The Hives<\/b>, in which rock is represented in all its forms, combining established names with new acts.<\/span><\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The first day will welcome Swedish hurricane <\/span>The Hives<\/b>, who will offer an adrenaline-filled show loaded with hits such as <\/span>Hate to Say I Told You So <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>Main Offender<\/span><\/i>. In an exclusive show, <\/span>Imelda May <\/b>will arrive at Mendizabala accompanied by Darrel Highman to review her most rock ‘n’ roll repertoire, and <\/span>The Adicts <\/b>will pass through the festival with their farewell tour, bringing an end to almost five decades of irreverence and punk partying. Rounding out the day will be the unstoppable metal machine <\/span>Corrosion of Conformity<\/b>, the virtuosity combined with youth courtesy of <\/span>Dewolff<\/b>, the blues veteran <\/span>Robert Finley<\/b>, and the refined pop-soul-funk of Guipuzcoa’s <\/span>Nhil<\/b>. The second day will welcome shock rock godfather <\/span>Alice Cooper<\/b>, in a theatrical horror and hard rock show that has elevated him to one of the key figures in rock over recent decades. <\/span>Sugar’s<\/b> reunion tour will stop off at the festival, marking their first visit to Spain since 1993 and one of the most special shows of this edition. From California, <\/span>Circle Jerks <\/b>will unleash their hardcore punk full of rage and social commentary, and <\/span>Counting Crows <\/b>will revisit their hits with the unmistakable voice of Adam Duritz at the helm. <\/span>Evaristo<\/b>, for his part, will take a look back at all his projects and a discography that has earned him the title of flagship of Basque punk. <\/span>Old Crow Medicine Show’s<\/b> American folk will make its first appearance in Spain, <\/span>Voivod <\/b>will unleash their dystopian metal, <\/span>Black Maracas <\/b>will release their psychedelic fuzz, and <\/span>The Damn Truth<\/b>, led by the charismatic Lee-La Baum, will start up <\/span>their rock & roll machine. On the last day, featuring a particularly diverse lineup, <\/span>Social Distortion <\/b>will return after their visit in 2022 to present <\/span>Born To Kill, <\/span><\/i>their first album in fifteen years, and to offer a lesson in classic rock & roll, country, and blues from Mike Ness and his band. <\/span>Carpenter Brut <\/b>will arrive in Mendizabala to conquer rock souls with his recognizable electronic sound, in which synthesizers are mixed with the most industrial metal, and (former Drive-by-Truckers) <\/span>Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit <\/b>will demonstrate why he is considered a key figure in today’s alternative country scene.<\/span> Alcal\u00e1 Norte <\/b>will prove themselves to be much more than just a promising band, <\/span>Sleaford Mods <\/b>will review the uncomfortable truths of our society with irony and post-punk, <\/span>Superchunk <\/b>will delight lovers of the most honest power pop, <\/span>Discharge <\/b>will sound devastating with their veteran mix of hardcore d-beat, and <\/span>Therapy? <\/b>will perform their most acclaimed album, <\/span>Troublegum<\/span><\/i>, in its entirety. Street punk will also be present in Mendizabala courtesy of <\/span>Split Dogs<\/b>, as well as <\/span>cow punk <\/span><\/i>by <\/span>Vandoliers<\/b>, and new wave and glam aesthetics by <\/span>Starbenders<\/b>. <\/span>Lepora’s<\/b> powerful Basque rock and <\/span>Rodeo’s<\/b> stoner rock will represent local talent on the last day. The most hypnotic synth-punk will be performed at Trashville by <\/span>Cuir<\/b>, and there will also be horror punk and psychobilly frequencies from <\/span>Bloodsucking Zombies from Outer Space<\/b>, subversive folk-punk from <\/span>Bridge City Sinners, <\/b>as well as a bizarre performance led by <\/span>Capit\u00e1n Entresijos feat Garganta Profunda <\/b>and rock from another dimension by <\/span>Twin Ghosts<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, the festival has increased <\/span>the frequency and number of buses <\/b>to and from the festival, offering organized trips from nearby cities such as <\/span>Altsasu, Arrasate, Barakaldo, Bilbao, Burgos, Donostia, Errenter\u00eda, Getxo, Ir\u00fan, Miranda de Ebro, Pamplona, Portugalete, Renter\u00eda, and Zarautz<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n
