One of the most influential figures in contemporary synthwave, Carpenter Brut, will arrive at Mendizabala to present his newly released album Leather Temple, the closing chapter of a trilogy. Since emerging in the mid-2010s, his sound has turned 80s nostalgia into a visceral experience packed with razor-sharp synths, pounding electronic pulses and an aesthetic inspired by horror cinema, heavy metal and arcade culture. Live, his proposal goes far beyond music, transforming into a full-scale spectacle of strobe lights, neon-soaked screens and a band that pushes the experience into a night-time, explosive ritual of electronics, metal and pop culture, pulling the audience into a dark, hypnotic and unstoppable journey.

SUPERCHUNK

Formed in 1989 in North Carolina, Superchunk quickly became one of the cornerstones of American indie rock, thanks to a blend of punk energy, sharp melodies and an unshakable D.I.Y. ethic. From their self‑titled debut, they showed that urgency and rage could live side by side with pop hooks and raw honesty, helping define the sound of 90s alt‑rock with iconic tracks like Driveway to Driveway and Like a Fool. Their latest album, Songs in the Key of Yikes (2025), once again brings together urgency, melancholy and punchy power‑pop melodies. On stage, their shows are still a masterclass in cutting riffs, pounding drums and unadorned, sincere rock, a rare trait in bands with such a long‑standing legacy.

ALCALÁ NORTE

In the heart of Madrid’s Ciudad Lineal district, Alcalá Norte was born in 2019 as a neighbourhood project created by three friends determined to give voice and sound to their surroundings. In 2024, they released their self‑titled debut album, and quickly rose to become one of the most promising names in Spanish rock. With influences from post‑punk, indie rock and ’90s Britpop, their songs reflect everyday life, disillusionment, broken dreams and nostalgia, connecting with a generation through committed urban lyrics and producing anthems that many already see as the soundtrack of the present.

Capitán Entresijos was born in early 1990s Madrid, forged in radical DIY spirit and systematic rejection. Taking his name from Captain Sensible (The Damned), he was either kicked out of or drifted away from every band he joined — until he decided to strike out solo.Often joining him on stage is Garganta Profunda, an unorthodox showman who delivers dramatic recitations of the lyrics and borderline-naked performances that push the limits of the stage. The result? A wild spectacle that delivers exactly what it promises: “Barroom poems not suited for every stomach.”
