A total of 47,500 people attended Mendizabala over the three days of Azkena Rock Festival 2025, reaffirming a unique way of experiencing music. An edition that became a gathering, a ritual, and a sonic communion, where legends, new voices, and an intergenerational audience shared the stage in perfect harmony.

The second day of Azkena Rock Festival was an intergenerational celebration — a day that reaffirmed the power of live music, shared emotion, and a sonic legacy that continues to beat strong in Vitoria-Gasteiz. From midday in the heart of the city to the final song under the stars of Mendizabala, rock remains a living ceremony.

The gates of Mendizabala have opened today to welcome the loyal Azkena Rock Festival community. In its twenty-third edition, the festival once again brings us the true essence of rock & roll through the many performances across its different stages. The first day has been all about reunions among old friends, hugs under the Álava sun, and the kind of sounds that remind us why this festival is an annual pilgrimage for so many.

And the next edition already has a date: ARF will return to Vitoria-Gasteiz on June 18, 19 and 20, 2026. The first passes are already on sale at the festival’s Info Point, at a special price available exclusively in Mendizabala.

The long-awaited time has come to unveil the schedule of Azkena Rock Festival, which will celebrate its 23rd edition on June 19, 20 and 21 in Mendizabala, Vitoria-Gasteiz. The mecca of rock & roll will feature top names such as the legendary John Fogerty with all the classics of his repertoire and a unique date in Spain, Manic Street Preachers, also on an exclusive date; The Flaming Lips, performing Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots; Dinosaur Jr, performing his legendary Without a Sound; the iconic Lucinda Williams; the 30th anniversary of The Hellacopters, and many more names including free programming in the Plaza de la Virgen Blanca or the space for families Txiki ARF.

The Iberian Festival Awards celebrated its ninth edition this weekend at the Pavilhão Multiusos 25 de Abril, in Almancil, in a gala in which the jury and the votes of the public rewarded the contributions and achievements of the festivals held between January and December 2024 in the Iberian Peninsula.
In total, four awards were collected by Last Tour and its festivals.

The award for Best Marketing and Communication Strategy at the Iberian Festival Awards is a great recognition for Azkena Rock Festival, as it confirms the work and effort of the professional team that works every year to attract thousands of fans to the mecca of rock. The festival launched during 2024 “El Podcast del Azkena”, a space to explore the 23 years of history of the rock and roll festival par excellence, with anecdotes of the festival told for the first time and special guests.

Azkena Rock Festival will celebrate its eighteenth edition on June 19, 21 and 21, 2025, with an exceptional line-up: John Fogerty, Dinosaur Jr, Manic Street Preachers, The Flaming Lips and Lucinda Williams, among other big names. Tickets are already on sale. 

Azkena Rock Festival finalizes its lineup and presents the daily schedule, featuring legendary John Fogerty, who will perform all the classics from his repertoire in his only show in Spain. Also exclusive to the festival are Manic Street Preachers and The Flaming Lips, who will perform Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots in its entirety. Other highlights include the iconic Lucinda Williams, the 30th anniversary of The Hellacopters, and newly announced Dinosaur Jr, performing Without a Sound. Following the success of the 2024 edition, Txiki ARF returns as a family-friendly space, and the lineup for the Virgen Blanca stage has been revealed. If the Azkena Rock Festival is a temple of rock & roll, then Trashville is its darkest altar, its hidden dive bar, a den in the underworld. This is no ordinary stage: it is a primitive abyss where rock sounds dirtier, wilder, and rawer than ever. Trashville is the place where the line between stage and audience is erased, and where anything can happen. Here, there are no rules, no limits, no respite. Trashville is a festival within the festival, a black hole of frenzied rhythm where garage, rockabilly, surf, and psychobilly collide with the grimiest punk. A tent that pulses to its own beat, with the atmosphere of a concert venue wide open for the wildest dancing. Here, the fastest riffs reign, the drums run riot, and the basslines roar like engines. It doesn’t matter whether the instrument is a guitar or a piece of scrap metal, or whether it’s played by a caveman or a being from another planet, because what matters is attitude. In Trashville, anything is possible.”

Considered one of the best garage bands in the country, Valencian group Wau y los Arrrghs!!! return following their 2023 reunion to celebrate their 20th anniversary, much to the delight of their fans, offering a select series of exceptional concerts to mark the milestone. In a one-off, exclusive performance, clad in leopard print, The Neanderthals proclaim themselves to be true cavemen. One thing is certain, their garage sound is raw and primitive. Some suspect they share a singer with Los Straijackets, a theory that could be put to the test at the festival if anyone dares to strip this legendary Nashville band of their Mexican wrestler masks when they storm onto the Trashville stage.

From Italy, the rock & roll duo The Devils join the line-up, with a name perfectly suited for officiating any kind of ritual that Trashville may inspire. Elegant and strange, from the deepest underground, Escape-ism arrives with American filmmaker and musician Ian Svenonius as frontman and crooner. The self-styled ‘mercenary band’ from France, Fléau, will bring the battle, clad in helmets and armed with a noisy dose of hardcore. Combining fitness, metal, and pepperoni pizza, each performance by the Italian Gogoponies has a different theme, with one thing in common: boundless fun. Scrap-metal sound, “ninonino,” and gritty guitars come with Las Jennys de Arroyoculebro, the queens of urban punk. Mambo Rambo are two crazy cavemen from the Canary Islands, paying tribute to the Latin sounds of the 60s.

The scarecrows have escaped from the farms of Walton (UK), and with their straw hands, they’ve begun playing primitive rhythm & blues to scare off the crows! They are Thee Scarecrows Aka. Continuing with bizarre creatures, The Sex Organs return to Azkena, two extraterrestrial genitalia with their dirty and primitive ‘sex & roll.’ And if the goal is to dance, the Trashville lineup includes a fitness session with raw punk, psychobilly, and ska rhythms, courtesy of six Belgians in tracksuits, Wallaroos, who will have the whole tent dancing.

In addition, no Trashville experience would be complete without a selection of top-tier DJs to close out the endless nights. Alta Tensión DJs, Bilba Grotbill, DJ Bone, Borja Nihil, El Chico, Malandra, Nat Simons Jukebox, Rock Nights, and DJ Strychnine will bring all their musical expertise to serve this high-level mission.

The passes are now on sale at azkenarockfestival.com at a promotional price until 7th March. This year, in addition to the Bono Gaztea (€100 + fees, for those under 23), the Bono Cuadrilla is being launched, designed for the inseparable festival friend groups: by buying 5 passes, they’ll receive 6. The option for instalment payments is also available, as well as free entry for children under 14. The festival will offer organised bus trips from nearby cities such as Bilbao, Pamplona, Donostia/San Sebastián, Zarautz, Arrasate, and Alsasua, making it easier to access one of the most anticipated events of the year.

John Fogerty is a true American treasure. As the leader of Creedence Clearwater Revival, he forged a unique and distinctive sound where blues, country, and rock & roll merged seamlessly, accompanied by his singularly evocative lyrics. A Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee, Fogerty has sold over 100 million records throughout his illustrious career. This year, he settles an outstanding debt with the Azkena Rock Festival audience by confirming his presence, after the pandemic forced the cancellation of his highly anticipated 2020 performance, which was set to follow the unforgettable show he delivered three years earlier, performing Creedence classics.

The legendary John Fogerty joins the Azkena Rock Festival lineup in an exclusive performance, alongside Manic Street Preachers, who will play their only show in Spain, and The Flaming Lips, who will perform their iconic album Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots in full. The bill also features the iconic Lucinda Williams, a special 30th-anniversary set from The Hellacopters, and the band from the film La estrella azul, led by its star Pepe Llorente, who was awarded the Goya for Best New Actor this past weekend. Another major figure in American music, Margo Price, joins the lineup, performing in Spain for the first time and in an exclusive appearance. Without losing sight of the legacy of Loretta Lynn and Emmylou Harris, the singer-songwriter has established herself as a generational talent and a cult artist, unafraid to tackle issues such as the gender pay gap and the challenging conditions faced by American farmers.

All the way from Australia, C.O.F.F.I.N bring their high-energy blend of hard rock and punk, promising a performance that will leave a lasting mark on Azkena Rock Festival. Meanwhile, The Lemon Twigs are a band whose reputation has grown through word of mouth—those who have seen them live can’t stop recommending them. They arrive at ARF as one of the must-see acts of the year. Finally, rounding out today’s new confirmations is Sarria, one of the most exciting young talents in Spanish pop-rock. At just 20 years old, the Málaga-born musician had already toured the world with Los Labios, the Seville-based band where he first showcased his remarkable skill.

Azkena Rock Festival announces today a strong preview of the line-up for its next edition, full of big names that reflect the commitment to quality music and promise an unforgettable experience.
